The RV Sea Dawg is available for research and/or commercial charter when not being used for its normal education purposes.

The A-frame and hydraulic winch can tow or lower and raise nets, small dredges, rakes, transponders, small remote submersibles and other equipment in the estuarine and near coastal waters.  

Up to 28 passengers can be accommodated for transport if the A-frame is not being used. Depending on equipment, a number not exceeding 22 passengers can be accommodated if the A-frame is in use .

The RV Sea Dawg also has the deck space to transport materiel to a variety of locations.
